The foundation focuses on Mental Health Education, Advocacy, Access to care and Funding for Central Virginia families whose children up to age 21 are struggling with mental illness and associated drug abuse problems.
- Family Grant Program – Provide gap funding for mental health treatment for resident of Virginia up to age 21 with one of our partner mental health professionals or organizations. Learn more
- Operation OnRamp – Psychological testing. This program pays for or provides gap funding for the psychological testing needed to determine a treatment plan for a child up to age 21 who is a resident of Virginia. Mental health providers and state agencies send us candidates whose income, medicaid and/or insurance fall short of paying for this assessment and payments are made directly to the provider. - Preventure Drug Prevention Program for Adolescents– In partnership with VCU Drug & Alcohol Studies and pending a submitted grant from NIH, Beacon Tree will help implement this evidence based program that has shown up to 80% reduction in drug and alcohol use in schools outside the US. Learn more
- CMHRC– We support the Children’s Mental Health Resource Center (CMHRC) which acts as a GPS for families seeking care for a child needing mental health resources. It is a family mental health call center founded by the Virginia Treatment Center for Children (VTCC) Learn more
Education and Awareness Events
In late April or early May we host our signature fundraiser, Trees of Hope, a youth concert that helps fund our programs
