Upcoming 2017 Teen and Parent Mindfulness Events in Richmond VA

We all know that mindfulness and teaching this coping mechanism is important to teens who need tools to manage their stress. It’s a free and easy way to manage mental illness as part of an overall positive treatment plan. Here are a few mindfulness events coming up in the area.

ACAC – Mindful Teens

First Tuesdays, Oct 3, Nov 7, Dec 5
7:00p – 8:00p
Adventure Central

What is mindfulness? Paying attention to what is happening moment-by-moment without self judgement. Practicing mindfulness has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety, increase attention span, reduce blood pressure and heart rate, strengthen the immune system, enhance quality of sleep, promote organization and improve the ability to adapt to change.

This free class is open to all middle and high school aged teens; no registration necessary. Wear comfortable clothing. Bring a friend or two!

ACAC requests that all students attending next week’s Mindful Teens seminar bring a waiver (signed by a parent guardian over the age of 18) which is found directly at this link:
